Relax by the pool in style with a timber frame pavilion. This is our Alpine series, distinguished by its hammer beam trusses and black powder coated steel straps. This particular pavilion is 16' x 20', and has stone pillars and a stone seating area. Authentic mortise & tenon joinery can be found throughout. In the mountains of Vermont, we built an incredible “mountain modern” timber frame home, combining the rustic aspects of timber framing with today’s modern architecture. The frame of this 3,650 sq. ft. home was constructed using Douglas Fir timbers, and is comprised of two floors. The angled roofline and massive windows with the Douglas Fir frame and reclaimed barn board siding combine for a stunning sight. This is certainly a stellar property, ready for hosting friends and family year-round. 

This customer wanted to recreate a barn from their past using today’s timber framing technology. They turned to The Barn Yard to replicate the design from a historic barn they previously owned. The design was different from our standard Lenox Carriage Barns, featuring common purlins in place of common rafters, and cut from Hemlock instead of our usual Eastern White Pine or Douglas Fir. We were very excited to help bring a piece of this customer’s past back to the present. This barn was shipped to Coastal Maine in kit form. A striking 26' x 56' Plymouth Carriage Barn sits atop a Vermont hill, with stunning views of the rolling horizon in peak fall foliage. Timber frame accents, two transom dormers, two cupolas, and an open lean-to overhang are just a few of the features that make this Carriage Barn truly incredible. Our cabin series has the rustic feel you need to get away from it all. The Trapper’s Cabin fits right in on your hunting property, next to the lake, or on a mountainside. Our cabin series is meant to provide a retreat from everyday life, and this 10' x 16' Trapper’s Cabin in the hills of Tolland is no exception. With a 5' open lean-to porch, reclaimed barn board siding, and authentic timber framing, the versatility of this cabin is unmatched. The frame of this cabin was raised live during our 2023 Open House, and then brought to the job site where the roof and overhang were built. Let’s take a tour.

In this blog, we'll be highlighting the exterior of this one-of-a-kind 38' x 48' Lenox Carriage Barn in Deep River, CT. This barn has plenty of upgrades and details that take it to a new level, while still providing that iconic barn silhouette. From the three garage bays, to the two dormers, to the timber frame cupola, everything about this barn is exquisite.

When a high end hotel needed an event space for their campus, they turned to The Barn Yard for a barn. Not just any barn—an authentic timber frame barn, built in the style of 1800s craftsmanship with the precise construction of today. This stunning 60' x 60' Preakness Saratoga Barn serves as recreational space, ideal for hosting parties, cooking classes, meetings, company retreats, and more. Complete with tall ceilings, authentic post & beam construction, and large glass windows, this barn fits in with the surrounding area, allowing for its guests to learn, network, and meet in style.
